DIY Valentine Wreath

I periodically do some craft projects for a neighbor who owns a scrapbook company.  She is on her way to a trade show this week and so I used some of her paper to make some layout and this wreath for her display. Once her trade show is over, I get all my things back so I decided to do something Valentines worthy since it is right around the corner.   I was excited since I need some more Valentine Decor.  I just love Valentines Day so much!  I'm excited already for it!  As I was making this wreath, I decided to take some pictures so I could share it. It is very easy to make, but definitely time consuming rolling all the roses.  However, I think it was worth it!  It made me happy when it was all done.

Fill in entire wreath.  Then I added little rhinestones to the centers and inked the edges with some pink dye. Very subtle.
I am so happy with how it turned out and think it will even look cute in my girl's room after Valentines Day.

It was so much fun that I am making another more vintage version.  Maybe I will post it too when I am all finished.  All the paper I used for this wreath came from Three Bugs In A Rug.

2 going on 13

One evening Livvy saw an infomercial about a dirt catching rug and she said,
"Mommy, we TOTALLY need to get that for you!"

She sounded like such the little teenager.  I had to laugh.  She will be 3 in a couple of weeks.   My heart never seems to process why they have to grow up. *sigh*
She has been so fun through every stage.  We just love this little girl!

LOVE child???

Every time I see chef Curtis Stone, I think he looks sooo much like an older version of my Chaser.  I think it is those big bright eyes and the thick dark eyelashes.  But then also when I see Curtis on The Biggest Loser smiling and making  cute expressions, I can't get over how much those expressions remind me of Chase too.  It's a little uncanny.

Who knows?...  Maybe I'm just hiding a big secret. ;)

There is a Reason She's Daytime Programming

Always a funny kid!

I'm still not finished posting pictures from Christmas, but I HAD to document this story.  It is a classic!  Sadly, since Chase has gotten older I haven't been writing all of his Chaserisms  like when he was little, but he is still one funny kid!  Oh, how we love him!  He is so entertaining!

Ok- so the story goes:
I was lying in bed last night trying to catch up on an Oprah show.  I have like 27 episodes saved on my DVR.  Most of them months old.  I just rarely get the chance to watch them.  Anyway, I was watching this really heart warming story about a mother who lost both arms and legs to a flesh eating bacteria.  She and her family lived in a small apartment and her husband had lost his job.  But due to her inspiring attitude, Oprah and Nate Berkus were going to buy them a house, customized to her needs.  It was very touching to me.

Chase on the other hand was lying at the end of my bed and after watching this segment, began asking TONS of questions about flesh eating bacteria.    He wanted to know where it comes from, how it is contracted, and how do you know if you have it.  I explained to him the rarity of that disease, but he was very very troubled and didn't want to let it go.  I was a little surprised by his upset because he loves that show Monsters Inside of Me.  (He has never been much of a cartoon kid).  If I have a stomach ache he'll say, "Maybe it is a parasite or amoeba."  So then I tell him he can't watch those shows anymore.

Then Chase climbed off my bed and in the lamp light, took off his shirt and was trying very hard to look at his elbow.  I didn't think much of it at first. (I was still watching Oprah.) :)...  However, it was funny watching him try to swing his elbow around.  He looked up at me and said that his elbow was hurting.  I told him that maybe he had some dry skin and I could put some lotion on it.  He shook his head.  So, I said, "Chase, are you worried that you have a bacteria?"  He looked up in tears and nodded.  Wade came in, I explained what happened and together we sat and consoled him.  I told him how I didn't know even one person who ever had that and I was sure he wouldn't ever get it.  We talked and talked and said a little prayer but to no avail.  He finally broke out in sobs, buried his face in my side, and yelled,

"I can't ever watch Oprah at night anymore!  It is too SCARY!"

Wade and I were stifling our laughs as best as we could.
