Global Chaserisms

Our conversations with Chase are enlightening and still entertaining.  He has so many ideas and plans for his life.  He already invited his primary teachers to his "museum" he is building.
I laughed so hard when they told me that.  He is always collecting "stuff" for his museum and has a long list of other finds that are going to be in it.  He tells me I can come free any time I want.  Lol.
Here are a handful of current Chaserisms that I wrote down.  Love this kid. He's pretty special! :)

Me:   Chase, go wash your face so I can take your picture. (Easter)
Chase:  (Groan)... Can't you just edit it out?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chase:   Mommy, you know what I think?  I believe there are other planets in other galaxies that can support life.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chase:  Come on Livvy, let's build our time machine.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mommy, "Is that submarine on TV an Alvin?
Me: What is an Alvin?
Chase: Didn't you know? Its a bathysphere submarine.
Me: Oh, umm...yeah. ;)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chase:  Mommy, there's a yeti footprint in the yard.  (ya know, nonchalantly)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chase:  Mommy, can we go to the pool for my birthday?
Me:  Sure, we can probably do that.
Chase: But its SOOOO hard!!!!!
Me: What is so hard?!
Chase:  I mean, I do want to go to the pool for my birthday, but I also want to go to the Amazon River!!! Its too hard to decide!
Me: Ummm.... Chase, it is decided...it'll have to be the pool.

One Sunday after church:

Chase: Daddy, can you drive me to Nigeria quick?

little paleontologist
He insisted on creating his own blog one night.  It is super cute.  I love how he spells things and doesn't use punctuations just yet.  That makes it the cutest.  So take a deep breath and read through it. :)

CHASE'S BLOG

Maybe one day we'll go on one of these adventures he's planning.  Until then, I'll just enjoy the everyday ones.

Remembering 6...

Disclaimer: I don't want to ever brag about my children in an arrogant, boastful way. I do however want to encourage and praise my kids for their talents and strengths.  I've always teased about Chase being a handful at times.  But there is more to the story that deserves to be told.  I've been thinking about this as we prepare to celebrate his birthday this week.  He's been a fascinating 6 year old.

Wondering what 7 will bring...

I could write a novel about the endless experiences of raising Chase.   I feel so blessed to spend my days with him.   He is so smart and sweet.  :)
Here is a basic summary of his days, my days...
our days over the last year.

Chase carries an encyclopedia (or seven ) everywhere he goes.  Because of Chase, I know so much more about many obscure facts than I ever thought possible, or necessary.
He is already an amazing researcher at 6 years old.
He's my super-boy!

His kindergarten teacher told all the kids to keep reading over the summer and then added to Chase, "And keep googling."  She loved having Chase help share all of his research and fun animal and science facts with the class.  She told me once, somewhat apologetically, that she had also used google as leverage with him one day to get him to participate in a "boring" activity. (Her words...It worked.)
I told her she could use that any time she needed. She only had to a couple of times, because he really is such a good boy, but in her words; "He's an old man in this little person's body." :)

Googling  images on things such as Okapis, Apatosaurus,  Ocelots, etc. is what he loves to do after reading his encyclopedias so he can see as many pictures of them as he can find.  He is an amazing reader and people often look shocked at the words he can throw out so easily; especially all those in his dinosaur encyclopedia that are hard for most adults to pronounce. I am proud of Chase and his love of learning.  He literally reads about 3-5 hours a day.  We all read a lot in our family, but Chase has taken it to a whole new level.  He rarely has an interest in TV, except for a few shows like Discovery's Earth.  He is truly an amazing boy!  I can't wait to see what he does in his life. :)

Our conversations are funny and enlightening. Mostly he tells me facts that he reads.  I hear him ask me, "Did you know that?!?" maybe a thousand times a day.
Usually followed by my "Nope!"

my handsome little buddy

The cutest example- Chase loves to read to the neighbor kids.  I found him one day reading by the fence. I asked him to come inside but he said he couldn't because he wasn't finished reading to the neighbor.  That's when I realized he had an audience through the fence.  They couldn't come out to play in the front yard, so he just read through the fence.  It still makes me laugh.  :)

(Don't know if you can see the little face peaking through)

Love you, kiddo

Really? I was featured...

on this site for this announcement I did for Christina.
 Kinda cool... :)

A Ghost Story

As we were leaving somewhere, Sommer was worried about leaving our kitty hidden under our rocking chair that sits low to the ground.  (When he's under there, I won't let the kids sit in it so he doesn't get hurt.)

She wanted to get him out so Wade teased her,
" Who's gonna sit on him? The Ghost?"  :)
Sommer said, "The Ghost? What Ghost?!

Livvy piped in with her obvious tone,
"The Holy Ghost a-course!! He won't hurt him. He's a nice guy."

Splash!

We LOVE Summer!

I love that smile!

Chase (left) and his friend William
I love little feet in the air in photos! :)

I didn't get many pictures of Sommer. She and Sicily (her cousin) were all over the place having fun.

Livvy and Akasha (above)
Accidental focus, but I love it!

So refreshing.  I secretly wished I was playing in there with them!

Little Miss Cutesy

Braydon was such a great helper with Livvy. He played with her most of the time.  He's such a good big brother and she loves him so much!  She's definitely in a "Braydon is my favorite" mood lately.
I think they look alike... And they'll probably look a lot more alike if Braydon doesn't get a haircut soon!  :)

Summer is so grand... Please don't ever leave...
