Ten Years and Counting...

Wade and I just celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary.

Here we are 10 years ago on our wedding day. In 10 short years so much has transpired in our lives. I am so thankful to be married to Wade!

On the face of it, it may appear as we have little in common; he is so into cars, jeeps, machinery of any sort- me, not so much. He is so easy going. I'm the worrier. I love to dance, he doesn't. He LOVES history, especially military history, and I think more about the future. He's definitely more of the live in the moment kinda person. I make lists- he hates them! We read different books. He loves meat, I love salads. I like things clean, he can take it or leave it. He likes to hunt and I think carcasses on the wall are revolting. He fights fire, I fear them.

But in the heart of it, we are the same. We love our faith, our kids, and each other. We are both affectionate. We like the same sitcoms and a lot of the same movies. We both love to read together. In fact, some of my most favorite memories are of us crying over a book together- me passing it to him to read when I can't speak and him saying as he leaves for work, "Don't you dare read ahead of me!" :) I love many of his loves also. I love flying with him- he took me up for a previous anniversary. Wade is not so impressed by social status as he is with manners and sincerity. I love that about him! We both love cheap dates- driving or exploring the mountains with a good long talk. We both love music- sometimes of different forms, but we love broadway musicals so much! He is so supportive of my love of music and instilling that into our children! He puts up with all my faults and I know he knows them better than even I do. He serves others so much. What a great example to our children!

I really married the sweetest guy. It really is the little things that mean so much! He tells me everyday, many times a day how much he loves me. He's given up a lot for me. I know my happiness is so important to him. He still tells me I'm beautiful all the time, especially when I don't feel it. It's sad sometimes when I hear of husband that speaks so unkindly to his wife and yet, how nice it is that I think, "Wade would never speak to me that way." I really am blessed.

Thanks for marrying me, babe. You're the greatest~I love you, Wade!
